Ergonomics redefined
The innovative design promotes a natural and healthy working posture for the back, shoulders, arms, and elbows. This allows bonsai enthusiasts to work comfortably for longer periods of time and requires significantly less effort than with conventional tools.
Although the actual weight is comparable to other bonsai tools, the ingenious weight distribution makes it feel as though you’re holding only about half the weight in your hand.
Maximum Versatility
ICHIBAN combines the functions of several tools:
- Pruning shears
- Shears for small twigs
- Branch and root shears
- Wire cutters
- Chisel
- Hammer
- Pliers
This significantly reduces the number of tools needed and makes the workflow more efficient.
Innovative Design
The two cutting edges are connected by a specially developed rivet, which is up to four times stronger than conventional joints. This makes ICHIBAN particularly suitable for:
- Jin and Shari techniques
- Bending branches and wire
- Cutting aluminum and copper wire up to 4 mm in diameter
The blades, which are over 20% longer, allow access to hard-to-reach areas within the tree’s structure without having to touch delicate branches or needles with your hands. At the same time, the longer cutting edges ensure an exceptionally long blade life, so that resharpening is rarely necessary, even with regular use over many years.
Comfort for Every Hand Size
The ergonomic handle with a special rubber coating offers a secure grip and high comfort for both large and small hands. Pressure marks, sore fingers, and calluses are significantly reduced.
Thanks to its symmetrical design, ICHIBAN is equally suitable for right- and left-handed users. In addition, the tool can also be used upside down to reach even hard-to-reach areas that are difficult to access with conventional bonsai shears.
Sturdy and durable
- Rust-free when used properly
- Break-resistant construction
- Specially designed blade cleaner included
- Reliably removes resin and dirt residue
Another practical advantage: Thanks to its unique shape, ICHIBAN won’t damage pants or tool pouches and can be quickly stowed away or retrieved.
Limited Collector’s Edition
For the global market launch at the 2009 World Bonsai Friendship Federation Congress in Puerto Rico, each ICHIBAN tool was personally numbered and signed by Masakuni and Marco Invernizzi. This makes ICHIBAN not only an exceptional tool but also a coveted collector’s item for bonsai enthusiasts.
